LalVigne BOTRYLESS™: The Natural Solution Against Botrytis and Acid Rot
We are excited to introduce LalVigne BOTRYLESS™, a natural solution from Lallemand Oenology for vineyards.
A recent study (Mosetti et al, 2024) has demonstrated that using Lalvigne BOTRYLESS™ as part of a preventive or curative vineyard management strategy helps reduce the impact of botrytis and bacterial infections leading to acid rot.
Composed of a specific chitosan derived from 100% Aspergillus niger (NOT from crustacean origin – stay informed on the origin of your product), LalVigne BOTRYLESS™ leverages three fundamental characteristics:
1. Antimicrobial action
2. Elicitor effect
3. Creation of a protective biofilm
The use of LalVigne BOTRYLESS™ has effectively reduced botrytis and acid rot incidence and severity in Sauvignon blanc (Italy) and across different varieties and regions through both preventive and curative applications. It is a natural solution that preserves the microbial terroir, avoids phytotoxicity issues, and remains compatible with plant protection products. Furthermore, it does not impact alcoholic or malolactic fermentation and is suitable for organic vineyards.
